the year is full speed ahead again. schools open next week , kids will start their new grades. the house will be quiet again in the mornings...hopefully it will be put to good use , creativity wise....
we have a cuckoo here , the Black cuckoo , it migrates here in our summer. It has the most mournful repetitive call. it calls around our house for days. One of the black tribes call it "umtwana wafiyo" / (my children are dead) , because of the sadness of its call. I love it. early this morning the coucal(burchells) called across the road and the female answered under our window. I feel so blessed to hear them nearly every day.
